Nevada Capitol Police provide police services to many state-owned or leased buildings in Carson City and Las Vegas. Officers are assigned to one of two geographic areas:
Duties include assignment to the Capitol Building, Governors Mansion, Attorney General's Office, and patrol. Officers maintain surveillance over their specific areas and provide general police services.
Officers create a safe environment for elected and executive officials as well as security for more than 500 employees and 700 daily visitors in the Grant Sawyer Building, as well as other state buildings and properties.
